la luna clava en la mar un largo cuerno de luz
                               Federico Garcia Lorca

"The moon is nailed to the ocean
by a great horn of light. . . .”

Oh, Federico, your lines live
in the mind, in place,
repeat in time,
resonate forever
like radio voices in space.

My moon here
tied to the Allegheny
and your moon
tied to oceans
on the other side of silence –

a bloody wedding
of disparate moons
nailed into place

by our identical wishes –
a great cornucopia
flowing into the Ohio.
